Triscend Corporation Chooses IKOS Systems VStation Five-Million Gate Emulator

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2001--IKOS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS), a leading provider of high-performance design verification solutions, today announced that Triscend Corporation of Mountain View California, has selected the IKOS VStation-5M Emulation platform to provide hardware assisted verification performance on their latest design.

Triscend is a leading innovator of Configurable System-On-Chip solutions (CSoC) for the communications and embedded markets, delivering CSoC solutions to customers around the world. ``We were very pleased with IKOS' proven emulation experience and product performance during the competitive benchmark,'' noted J.D. Allegrucci, director of hardware design. ``The VStation-5M has the performance and capacity we need, plus its ease of use and easy in-circuit setup make it an ideal design team verification tool. The VStation platform's reliable operation and the support and responsiveness we had from IKOS was also a strong factor in our selection.''

``We are pleased to be working with a technology innovator such as Triscend,'' stated Linda Prowse Fosler, vice president of Marketing for IKOS Systems. ``They have a need for a reliable in-circuit verification solution which offers up to five-million usable ASIC gate capacity. We have made it a point to provide the market with a variety of solutions, use modes and price points. This flexibility is good for all of our customers but especially helpful in enabling smaller, highly innovative, companies like Triscend to fully benefit from the power of emulation.''

J.D. Allegrucci also pointed to IKOS' flexible pricing programs that helped Triscend acquire the right technology at the right time, ``IKOS' iEN rental program allows us free use of the system for the first 90 days followed by a very attractive monthly rental cost. If we choose, we also have the option to convert the system to purchase and receive full credit for the rent that we have paid.''
